Wilson Hunt is shown by YOUNT and others to have had 12 children. Eleven are identified in a family Bible with dates of birth and the other, a son Joseph, appears to have followed Enoch by the second wife. At the moment little is known of the children except what is shown in this document.
Married Margaret Shotwell (third wife). Rev. War Pension Record: No.15352; W. #4242; B.L.Wt. # 34968-160-55. States he enlisted from
Rowan Co, NC " Margaret personally appeared and made deposition in 1855, stating she was age 80 years and they were married 24 Nov. 1793 in the county of Fayette and state of Kentucky. Her name was Margaret Shotwell. There is no record of their marriage as the courthouse burned. She is now residing in the county of Owen, Ky." His first name may have been James, as Samuel named son, James, and, on Wilson's will, it appears to be J. Wilson Hunt.
Wilson Hunt had three wives and there are contradictory versions of their names and order. A compilation by Joyce Banaszak gives the name of a first wife as Agnes Burnet, second unknown, and third Margaret Shotwell. On the other hand, a compilation of a descendant Wilson Shotwell Hunt, III, of Kalamazoo, MI (in 1944) gives the name of the first wife as _____Bryan (which seems reasonable as he lived next to Bryan in Rowan County) who was mother of his first child Enoch, b in 1785, the name of the second wife as _____Burns, dau. of Jacob Burns (which may be the Burnet mentioned by Banaszak) who was he mother of his 2nd child Samuel born in 1792, and the third wife was Margaret Shjotgwell b. 20 Oct 1776 (22 years younger than her husband), dau. of Jasper Shotwell (b. Woodbridge, NJ, 1750/7, died 1816) and Clara or Clarissa Line (1755-1816). Wilson was a Rev. War veteran who on 15 Dec1832 at age 79 years applied for a pension while living in Fayette Co, KY. Notes for Daniel Hunt:
Daniel Hunt a prominent citizen of Jonesville, Surry Co., NC was a Rev. War soldier in NC, enlisting as a private and promoted to Lt. under Captain John Johnson in Col. Francis Locke's NC Regiment. He applied for a Rev. War pension in 1832 in which he described his service and testified that after his father had been taken prisoner, and released, in 1781, he was excused from further service in order to return home and take care of his father. He apparently continued affiliation with the NC militia because later in life he was called Col. Hunt, as was his father.
Bond for his first marriage was signed by Joseph Lynch.
After the Rev. War Daniel Hunt is said to have moved to Jonesville, "then the largest town west of Raleigh, and the seat of that famous old school, the Jonesville Academy, long and ably presided over by Professor William Van Eaton, who married Judith, dau. of Daniel Hunt and his wife Nancy Jones." it is said in a 14 June 1930 DAR Memorial Ceremony honoring the memory of Rev. soldier Daniel Hunt of Jonesville. According to the same document, Daniel was a merchant and large landowner in Jonesville and the Valley of the Yadkin, and had a place of business "opposite the old hotel which stands on the corner of the Main Street in Jonesville and was a member of the NC House of Commons 1803-1805. Judith is buried in Eaton Baptist Church Cem, Davie Co, NC

Other sources say that the son, subject Daniel Jr., m. Agnes Barlar and was the father of George Washington Hunt. Other sources, (e.g. the 1930 DAR Memorial to his father) say Daniel Hunt Jr., died young; other sources say he m. 26 March 1833 Sarah L. Thurmond. For a man who lived so long surprisingly little has been found of him, but he was not the Daniel Hunt who with a brother Nathan was the founder of Huntsville, Randolph Co., MO Birth recorded in Family Bible per Hickerson, op.cit. death recorded in Family Bible per Hickerson, op.cit.

In Hickerson, op.cit., Nathan Hunt was a merchant in Jonesville, NC, probably carrying on the business of his father. He is reported to have had children: Fannie Hunt who m. _____Eudaly: J. B. Hunt:Charles N. Hunt; and Elizabeth Hunt who m. _____Woods. It can be said with certainty that he was not the Nathan Hunt , one of the founders of Huntsville, Randolph Co, MO.

Know all men by these presents that I William Pugh will unto my nephew Will Chiles my claim of land in John Shawhan tract of one hundred and thirty acres which is now depending in a suit in the Bourbon Circuit Court for said land. Will Chiles Snr. Is to defray the expence of the suit and to lift my obligation for two hundred dollars that is against me payable to Eli Robertson for the said claim. And if the said Chiles succeeds in gaining the above land and all other claims on said land and settled the said Chiles is to pay Isaac Williams fifty dollars. I also will unto my mother my sorrel mare. I wish my brother John to sell my land in the State of Indiana and to give the money to my sister Polly I also will my sister Polly all the money that may be left after my debts are paid. I wish Sam'l Ewalt to sell my sorrel horse and to pay my debts with the money.

Notes for Enoch Hunt:
From Enoch's WILL and division of estate, it would appear that he had only four children, Agnes who m. Samuel Cooper and died of cancer in Feb 1850 at Wilkes Co, NC(in mortality schedule of Wilkes Co., NC in 1850 census), daughter Margaret, and sons Nathan C. Hunt and Noah Hunt of whom nothing further has yet been learned.
On 17 May 1814 Enoch was abutting landowner to William Ashby, a sale of which was witnessed by (among others) Enoch Hunt and Smith Hunt. Under the same date William Ashby sold to Enoch Hunt for $105 26 1/4 acres of land on the south side of Ceder Creek on bank of it next said Enoch Hunt and next Daniel Hunt on the north bank, witnessed by Nathanial Brock and John Little, Jr., and proved by the latter in Nov 1814. On 21 Nov 1814 Enoch Hunt wrote his WILL providing that wife Elizabeth was to have use of "my mill, etc until my eldest son is of the age of 21, to support herself and the children. The negroes were to be divided among the children, and Agnes Cooper (daughter) is entitled to all she has. Executors were Col. Daniel Hunt and William Chaffin, witnessed by A. Hunt and Nathan Chaffin Jr., (Rowan Co., Book G, p.344). Enoch died 22 Nov 1815 and there appears to be a delay of several years in settling the estate. On 6 July 1819 Samuel Cooper and Agnes Cooper sold a negro names Sissa, age 15 years, to Joseph Clouse of Rowan Co., for $600. The widow Elizabeth m. 2d 22 March 1817 John Frost (per Chaffin Bible), descendants said to have gone to Lone Jack, in 1842. By order of May Court of 1823 division of the estate of Enoch Hunt in conformance with his WILL was made and approved at November Court of 1823 by Commissioners John Dismukes, Thomas Ferrabee, Benjamin Eaton and William Taylor survey by John Little. The widow's dower was 88 3/4 acres on the bank of Ceder Creek next ___(?) Hunt, down the creek to John Frost's to the mill house including the home. Lot # of 140 acres went to Noah Hunt, next the millhouse on Ceder Creek down to John Frost's. Lot #2 goes to Nathan Hunt and is 126 acres on the creek bank next the millhouse of E. Hunt. (Division of Estates, Book A, p.309). A division of personal property was made 29 Aug 1823 by commissioners John Dismukes, Thomas Ferebee, and Nathan Chaffin in five lots: Lot #1 was a negro and $135.20 to Samuel Cooper (husband of dau. Agnes); Lot #2 was negroes Sam and Eddy and other property to Nathan C. Hunt; Lot #3 consisting of negroes Byrd and Christ and jother property goes to Margaret L. Hunt (presumed daughter); Lot #4 was a negro and two children to Noah Hunt; Lot #5 consisting of three negroes and other property sufficient to make up the one-third widow's dowry went to John Frost, 2d husband of widow Elizabeth. On 21 Oct 1822 Nathan Chaffin,Sr., made his WILL mentioning his hokmeplace of 150 acres "west of Enoch Hunt, east of Ceder Creek".
Although subject Enoch had been dead seven years, this description would appear to apply to his old home property.
